The Jesus Bible Reading Plan / LET ALL PEOPLES PRAISE YOU

The Jesus Bible Reading Plan

Day 163 of 365

LET ALL PEOPLES PRAISE YOU

The psalmist desired the blessings of God so that he could bring fame to God among the nations. The hope was that all people would see the benefits of following the Lord. From the beginning, God's plan was expansive, involving all the peoples of the earth (Ge 12:3). The evangelistic perspective of this psalm points toward the New Testament focus on sharing the gospel.
Before ascending to heaven, Jesus gave a clear mission to the disciples. They were to make new disciples of people from all nations - teaching and baptizing in his name (Mt 28:18 - 20). The primary way of making disciples is speaking the good news of the gospel - spelling out God's grace, Christ's sacrifice, the defeat of sin and the hope of eternal life.
When people experience life change through Jesus, he transforms them so that they bring light to the world. Satisfaction in Jesus turns into a living announcement about the sufficiency of Jesus. Christians shine their joyous light in the world - all for the glory of God (Mt 5:14 - 16).
Jesus, help me to articulate your truths to those who want to hear. I want others to understand the sufficiency of faith in you. Amen.

Psalms 67:1-7 NASB

1 God be gracious to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us- Selah. 2 That Your way may be known on the earth, Your salvation among all nations. 3 Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. 4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; For You will judge the peoples with uprightness And guide the nations on the earth. Selah. 5 Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. 6 The earth has yielded its produce; God, our God, blesses us. 7 God blesses us,

Matthew 28:18-20 NASB

18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,  20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Matthew 5:14-16 NASB

14 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;  15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
