What a Change! by Adrian Rogers

MARCH 12
What a Change!
“And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image...” Genesis 5:3
Did you know you’ve never really seen a man? Well, in a way you have. Suppose you’d never seen a railroad train, and I showed you a train that’s been wrecked with all the twisted metal on the tracks. Have you seen a train? Not really! You’ve seen a train wreck.
That’s no man you’ve seen; that’s a wreck. Everybody talks about being made in the image of God, but we’re not. After the fall, we find that we are made in the image of Adam. Adam was in the image of God, but that image was wrecked and spoiled. Adam brought forth a son in his image. But, oh, what a change there’s going to be someday when we become what our Lord made us to be.
One of the sweetest verses in the Bible says, “And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly (1 Corinthians 15:49). Take heart, friend. We’re going to be like Him, the second Adam, the last Adam, Jesus Christ from above. We’ve borne the image of the earthly long enough. We’re going to bear the image of the heavenly. We’re going to be like the Lord Himself.
