HUMILITY

Often, in the heat of arguments, we say, "I don't have to take that." Our generation of liberated women and chauvinistic men really believes that. However, it is contrary to God's Word. Jesus taught us there are a lot of things we have to take if we wish to be considered children of the King.

Paul knew what it was to be abused by the opponents of Christ and criticized by those who were in the household of faith. At times, his friends told him he was a fool for putting up with the things he did. He answered simply: For we have been made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake (1 Corinthians 4:9-10). It indeed is foolish in the world's eyes for us to put up with what we do. Yet we must begin to think like a Kingdom child and adopt the attitude of meekness.

Jesus could have called legions of angels to release Him from the cross. He chose not to demand His own rights but to give Himself for us. We must learn this attitude of meekness, even though to be like Christ is to be unlike our natural selves. In our marriage, meekness will go a long way to create a tender and loving climate that is pleasing to God.

“Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬
