PUTTING JESUS FIRST

We often feel our family problems are too big, too bitter, too burdensome for anyone to solve. And they are, for any human person. But God sent His Son that we might have life and life more abundantly. When we learn to let Him have first place in our lives, our marriages, our employment, our everything, then He begins to put it all together for us.

God simply says: Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones. Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine (Proverbs 3:5-10).

There is no really deep secret to having a happy home. It simply is letting Jesus have first place in our hearts. Each day is a growing experience as we draw closer to Him and to one another. As Hosea so wisely noted: Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord (Hosea 6:3). How do we learn to love? We start at the center of all love: Calvary. We must know God because God is love.

“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬
