The God Who Keeps Covenant
The Levites called out to “the great, the mighty, and awesome God, who keeps covenant and mercy.” This was more than a statement about the Lord’s character. It recognized that the Israelites enjoyed a special relationship with God based on a detailed formal agreement. Both parties were expected to fulfill specific obligations, and God could be counted on to keep His end of the bargain.
