In Joyful Song
Joy is a by-product of believing. But joy-producing faith must be anchored. An unknown psalmist unveils that Rock. Oh, the greatness of God clothed in light! Creator, Sovereign, Sustainer.
The psalmist’s vision is clear. He focuses on the Giver and not on His gifts. The psalmist has infectious joy because he is preoccupied with his God. His presence gives fullness of joy that circumstances cannot shake.
The psalmist’s Lord is the believer’s Lord Jesus Christ. The saint today has been formed for His will. When the believer begins to learn the greatness of his God, to meditate on His Person and work, and to place personal confidence in Him, such joy will be his experience. The unknown psalmist had great joy because he had a great God.

“Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in the Lord.”
