So Be It |
Day 15 of 50How do you begin and end your day? Maybe there is a model for our daily prayer lives in Psalm 118. The writer begins and ends with giving thanks, but what is really interesting is what happens in between. Out of a thankful heart comes an uncontainable excitement. He shares his story and invites others into the experience of praise. Ultimately the writer even moves from me statements to we statements in his writing. Is it possible that thanksgiving puts us in the proper perspective that can change how we go about our day? What would happen if we started and ended our day by giving thanks? Perhaps in doing so many more would see that the Lord is good and his love endures forever. Lord God, thank you for your unending love toward me. Thank you for Jesus, His willingness to die on the cross for my sins; and thank you for raising Him to life again, opening the way for me to live with you forever. Thank you for your provision (food, water, health, shelter, finances) this and every day. Thank you for bringing me this far and for the journey yet to come. Show me how to be thankful through whatever may come my way today. So Be It. Psalms 118:1 Psalms 118:28-29 Psalms 118:1 KJV
1 O give thanks unto the Lord ; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.
Psalms 118:28-29 KJV
28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.
29 O give thanks unto the Lord ; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. |
