So Be It |
Day 19 of 50The Lord had promised a personal visit to Elijah, but it came in the gentle whisper of an understanding voice. Learning how to listen for his still, small voice is a special part of praying. Jesus promised, “his sheep…know his voice” (John 10.4). Ask Him to help you hear Him as He speaks to your heart.Gracious Shepherd, teach me to recognize Your voice in the midst of the clamor and distractions of a loud and demanding world. Thank You, for the promise of Your Spirit in me to counsel and comfort as I seek to follow You. Open my eyes and ears to see and hear what You have for me today. Savior, like a shepherd lead me. Amen. 1 Kings 19:11-13 1 Kings 19:11-13 KJV
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord . And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord ; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. 13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah? |
