So Be It / Day 22

So Be It

Day 22 of 50

God is pleased when Christians pray for others, but He didn’t just call us to pray for those who love us. In fact, Jesus taught and modeled an unconditional and irrational love. As He was nailed to the cross, His first spoken words were Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. While being persecuted, He prayed for His enemies! Praying for an enemy can definitely be challenging, but remember, this is only possible through a life in Christ. As we pray for them we are not only challenged to deal with our emotions, but we eventually begin to reflect a Christ-like love.

Gracious God, I pray for those who have sinned against me and have caused me harm. I ask that your Spirit would fill their lives. May they experience the freedom and hope that I have in you. Teach me, Father, what it means to love those who persecute me. And with every passing day, may my life be a reflection of your love. So Be It. Matthew 5:43-44

Matthew 5:43-44 KJV
