So Be It / Day 9

So Be It

Day 9 of 50

Do you remember growing up, begging your parents if one of your friends could come over to your house or on a vacation with your family? In this prayer, we hear Jesus’ deep longing and desire for us to be with him. It’s not for an hour or for a weekend, but for eternity. And Jesus knows what it’s like on the other side of this life. It’s something that has to be shared and experienced with those he loves. Heaven is an eternity that we get to experience beyond our imagination - no tears, no disease, no death. It is a real place where we get to experience the glory of Jesus - the source of all creation, where there is food and exploration, creativity, purpose, and the deepest form of community and eternal love one could ever know. The amazing thing is Jesus isn’t asking his Father for us to just visit his home. Rather he is helping us find our true home.

Lord, make me homesick for heaven and grow in me the same deep desire to be with you that you have for me. Thank you for making a way for me to come back home. So Be It. John 17:24

John 17:24 KJV

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
