The NIV 365-Day Devotional Reading Plan |
Day 301 of 365Consequences
When confronted with risky situations, many of us are like the people of Judah: slow to listen and reluctant to obey. We stubbornly plow ahead with our own agendas until we find ourselves in trouble. Our choices frequently determine our circumstances. If we take the time to prayerfully consider the decisions we face, we have a better chance of making the right choices for ourselves and our families. But if we ignore God's warnings and deliberately reject his guidance, we must bear the consequences. Let God lead you through his words and through the advice of others whom you trust. Then obey him and follow his leading.
REFLECT & PRAY:
*Do you think listening and obeying go hand in hand? Why or why not?
*When have you failed to listen to God and suffered the consequences?
*What are some practical ways you can pass this important lesson on to your children?

Jeremiah 40:3 KJV
3 Now the Lord hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the Lord , and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.
