So Be It / Day 38

So Be It

Day 38 of 50

Don’t you love finding a shady spot on a blistering, hot day? Picture the house of a close friend or family member that was always cool on hot summer afternoons – even without air conditioning. Now imagine you discover that the coolness you enjoy is because of a big elm tree on the west side of the house, providing the shade to protect you from the scorching heat. God’s Word promises us that if we live in His presence, we can rest in His shadow! As we spend time in His Word, and together with each other in worship, we “dwell in the shelter of the Most High.” When we do that, we can rest in the cool shade that He provides in the face of the fiery trials that we may face.

Thank you God for providing a place of shelter where I can find rest. Help me to rest in your presence each day as I spend time in your Word. Help me to rest in your presence as I worship privately and together with my brothers and sisters. Thank you for being a comforting shade in the fiery trials of life. In Jesus name, so be it. Psalms 91:1

Psalms 91:1 KJV

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
