So Be It / Day 39

So Be It

Day 39 of 50

In these verses, the resurrected Christ was giving His final instructions to Peter. But all Peter could seem to think about was, “yes, but Lord, what about John?” Have you ever compared yourself with someone else and wondered why his or her life was the way it was? How might that attitude knock you off course from what God was asking you to do? Can you celebrate with someone else when good things are happening to him or her? What are God’s instructions to you right now? How will you respond?

God, thank you for caring enough to know me personally and prescribing just what I need to be doing with my life right now. Forgive me for drawing attention away from what I am being called to do and, instead, deflecting attention to others. Thank you for your patience, your forgiveness, and giving me another chance to get it right. In Jesus’ name, amen and so be it. John 21:20-21

John 21:20-21 KJV

20 Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

21 Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
