So Be It / Day 41

So Be It

Day 41 of 50

The Feast of Tabernacles was a yearly, weeklong party, when families camped out to remember God's faithfulness to Israel during the wilderness wanderings in which He miraculously provided water for a thirsty Israel in the desert. Each day of the feast, water was poured out at the altar to remind everyone of the water God supernaturally supplied for a parched Israel out in the boondocks. Then on the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus steps up and invites the thirsty to come to Him. Whether we realize it or not, each person has a deep thirst for Christ. Most often though, we turn to temporary things (i.e. romance, gadgets, food, work, etc.) for fulfillment . Are you letting your thirsty soul drink deep of who Jesus is?

Jesus, here and now, I turn to you to supply for my need. Forgive me of my sin. Heal my wounds. You are my sustenance. As my body depends on water for life, may you fill my desert soul with your Holy Spirit so that I may overflow. So Be It! John 7:37-38

John 7:37-38 KJV

37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
