Called to Love / Day 18

Called To Love

Day 18 of 21

Prayer - The believer’s lifeline

When you’re a parent, and when your kids are under your supervision, you play a significant part in their choices. The minute they leave home as young adults, however, you can only pray that the Holy Spirit would guide and counsel them to make the right choices.

Reading through these verses we are assured that when we decide to follow Jesus and give our lives whole heartedly to follow Him we are His. Being His sons and daughters, Jesus specifically intercedes for us to the Father. Every petition that we make and the prayers that we pray for others and ourselves brings Jesus to the forefront who then stands in the gap and mediates for us to the Father. This is a powerful truth for the church living in the world, that we can pray for one another and trust that Jesus is there speaking on our behalf.

The picture painted here is of a caring God who prays on our behalf so that we would have the courage and strength to withstand the enemy and emerge victorious.

Prayer -
• Oh, Lord, help your people be committed to this relationship with you by speaking to you in prayer as you have exampled
• Help the church stay at the center of your will

Thanksgiving -
• Thank you, God, that you have called us your children forevermore
• Thank you for the answered prayers
• Thank you for the unanswered prayers, for your will is above all and you carry out the best for your children who love you
• Thank you for deeming us righteous and interceding for us, Jesus John 17:9-10

John 17:9-10 NKJV

9 “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.  10 And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them.
