Called to Love / Day 2

Called To Love

Day 2 of 21

Jesus Reveals God - “If you know me, you will know my Father as well”

Jesus, unlike any other prophet or teacher, clearly points to Himself as being God. He says, “I am the way, truth, and the life…” and, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” This is one of the reasons Jesus was not just another prophet and in His life and resurrection we see His divinity.

In the previous portion we read that we have a place we belong, but to get there we need to believe that Jesus is in fact our savior and God, this is salvation. Why Jesus? Apart from the hundreds of prophesies he fulfills in the Bible of who the Messiah will be, doing miraculous works, and raising from the dead, Jesus brings to light the true nature of God the Father in His character. “If you know me, you will know my Father as well.” Jesus is the clearest revelation of God to humanity. Believe in Him, get to know Him more, see for yourself that Jesus is Lord.

Prayer -
• Lord, help me know you more so that I may see and believe
• Help me live a life led by your loving example that every day I grow in stature and strength, joy and peace like you

Thanksgiving -
• Thank you, Lord, that you have given me the way to salvation
• Thank you that today I can be confident in knowing God because I know you John 14:5-11

John 14:5-11 NKJV

5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

The Father Revealed

7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”

9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?  10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.  11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
