From Infancy... by David Jeremiah

From Infancy…

I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.

Reese Kauffman, President of Child Evangelism Fellowship, recently told a group, “I’ve been thinking a great deal about the brevity of life. When a young couple learns they’re expecting a child, they get ready, prepare the nursery, get a car seat, set up the crib, and buy some little clothes. Before they know it, their little one is crawling, then walking, then going to school, then going out on a date, then leaving home. It happens so quickly. If you haven’t started pointing them to Christ in babyhood, praying with them, bringing God into their minds as soon as they start thinking, and setting their view of life correctly, it will soon be too late.”

Remember what Paul told Timothy: “I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice… and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 1:5; 3:15, NIV).

We can pray over our children and quote Scripture to them even in the crib. It’s never too soon to start pointing them toward the Lord.
