Names of God: Through Thanksgiving & Christmas / Day 26

Names of God: Through Thanksgiving & Christmas

Day 26 of 30

It is because of God's grace that we are saved. Through the virgin Mary, God the Son, Jesus, came forth, cloaking Himself in flesh to become the living and breathing example of holiness on Earth. Jesus' Advent however did not mark His beginning. Jesus has existed throughout eternity as part of the Trinity. In the beginning, before existence, God was. Long before He came to this earth wrapped in flesh, before existence, Jesus was. Long before He was poured out at Pentecost, before existence, the Holy Spirit was. God as Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit existed in all eternity. Through Jesus, believers in Him have unfiltered access to God and have been filled with the Holy Spirit for abundant life and light. We could not reach our holy God. We could not touch our holy God. We could not see our holy God. But… we could cling to and grab hold of a holy Jesus. Jesus is our example of light, compassion, love, mercy, forgiveness, and peace in this dark world.
In your beginning… in the beginning of your day, in the beginning of your difficult circumstances, in the beginning of your frustration, in the beginning of your fear, in the beginning of your uncertainty, will you cling to Jesus? Or will you wait leaving Him as your last resort? Will you remember that the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit have gone before you in eternity, have seen this hard circumstance in your life before you were born, and have set and lit your path ahead of you? Or will you wrongly assume that your issue is too insignificant for eternity?
Father God, You are the God who was and is and is to come. Your Hand has touched my life from the beginning of eternity. Your Son has transformed my life. I thank You that I am not the same person that I was before You. I thank You that You and I were destined to be together. I thank You, Lord, that I have been significant to You from the beginning. I thank You, Lord, that not one of my hurts, not one of my painful experiences, not one thing that I have suffered is insignificant nor is it a surprise to You…for You saw it through eternity…in the beginning. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Matthew 1:20-22

Matthew 1:20-22 NKJV

20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus , for He will save His people from their sins.”

22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
