NKJV 365 / Hope

NKJV 365 Day Reading Plan

Day 4 of 365

Hope

Every day at House of Hope we have the opportunity to experience God riding the heavens to be our refuge.
Kathy's life is a perfect example. Kathy, along with her two older sisters, was put up for adoption when she was a baby. Her growing-up years were spent moving from one foster home to another, being sexually abused in many of them. At fourteen she decided she couldn't stand it anymore, so she ran away, spending many nights sleeping on a cold, concrete slab behind a gas station.
One day Kathy decided to go to church, where she was directed to House of Hope. While staying with us, she located her biological mother and learned she had given up her children because she was too poor to care for them. Kathy then located her two older sisters, and they and their mother came to visit Kathy. What a joyous reunion that was!
Today Kathy is married to a fine Christian man. They have four darling children, and the entire family is serving God. What could have ended in heartbreak and tragedy instead resulted in a life dedicated to the Lord because God became Kathy's refuge, holding her up with His everlasting arms.
If you feel your life is headed for tragedy and you have no hope, remember what God did for Kathy. He wants to do the same for you. Will you pray this prayer? "Dear God, please direct my steps to just the right person to help me get the healing I desperately need. I put my hope in You."
