Day 85 of 365 Hope The Book of Amos is filled with the dire consequences of God's judgment on an unrepentant, sinful Israel. The ominous warnings of God's punishment and destruction are rather severe. So it almost seems out of place to have Amos end his book with such a glorious prophecy. What God destroys He will rebuild and repair. What God takes away He will restore to abundance and security. The righteous remnant of Israel will become an extended kingdom embracing the Gentiles. In God's righteous judgment there is always a future and a hope. "Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord- what good words these are for us today! We arenot to be overcome by the calamities of our world or to just focus on the present, but to hold steadfast to the hope that the best is yet to come.
