Day 113 of 365 The Origin of Woman, WOMEN IN GOD'S DESIGN. When God presented the woman to Adam, this text reveals how immediately Adam recognized something of himself in her. She was part of himself (see Eph. 5:28, 29); in effect, his "other self." God then instructed that they should "be joined" (cleave) and "become one flesh." The effectiveness of the woman in God's unfolding design would greatly depend on whether or not the man would receive her from God's hand-a principle that may initially apply within marriage, but extends from there to the church and society as a whole. Taken from New Spirit-Filled Life Bible Genesis 2:23-24 NASB 23 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." 24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
