TODAY'S TURNING POINT WITH DR. DAVID JEREMIAH
Streets, Paths, and Roads—The Damascus Road
June 17, 2017
As I journeyed to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests … I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun….
Acts 26:12-13
Acts 26:12-13
The story of Paul’s conversion on the road to Damascus is given three times in the book of Acts. It’s told as it happened in a historical narrative in Acts 9. Then Paul related the story to a crowd in Jerusalem in Acts 22 and to King Agrippa in Acts 26. In his epistles, Paul referred several times to his miraculous conversion. For example, he told the Galatians he had been a violent persecutor of the Church, but God called him to preach the faith he had formerly sought to destroy (Galatians 1:11-17).
Recommended Reading: Acts 26:12-23
Effective soul winners understand the importance of sharing how they came to know Christ as Savior. Seminary professor Chuck Lawless wrote, “The Bible is filled with people who reached out to others simply by telling their story. Andrew told Peter he had met the Messiah, and Philip echoed a similar story to Nathaniel (John 1:40-42). The man born blind told all he could after meeting Jesus: ‘Once I was blind, but now I see.’”
Today may be the day the Lord gives you an opportunity of share your “Damascus Road” experience with someone who needs Christ. .
Our stories are evidences of grace. Some may seem more dramatic, but all are stories of grace-saturated life transformation.
