The Jesus Bible Reading Plan / GOD'S CARE

The Jesus Bible Reading Plan

Day 183 of 365

GOD'S CARE

Psalm 104 spells out the details of God's care for the world. The beasts of the field get their water from a spring, but ultimately that water comes from the hand of God (vv. 10 - 11). God planted the trees that the birds nest in (vv. 16 - 17). The teeming creatures of the sea look to the Lord for provision (vv. 25 - 27). The psalmist made clear God's care for his creation. Jesus would much later take this truth and apply it to his hearers, saying, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" (Mt 6:26). Peter, who surely heard these words, would later write, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" (1Pe 5:7).
Jesus, help me to not worry about the details of this life. Instead, help me to rest in the faithfulness of your providence and provision. Amen.

Psalms 104:24-27 NASB

24 O L ord , how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; The earth is full of Your possessions. 25 There is the sea, great and broad, In which are swarms without number, Animals both small and great. 26 There the ships move along, And Leviathan, which You have formed to sport in it. 27 They all wait for You
