Day 229 of 365 Peter started out well. He did not impetuously leap out of the boat, but asked the Lord to bid him walk on the water. And Jesus said, "Come!" (4:29). That's always a wise way to operate! Soon, however, Peter let circumstances get the better of him. By focusing on the danger of his call, he forgot the Lord's word. That's when he sank. Do you want to grow in faith? Then lock your eyes on Jesus (Heb. 12:2). Corrie Ten Boom once said, "Look without and be distressed. Look within and be depressed. Look at Jesus and be at rest."
