NKJV 365 Day Reading Plan / Sovereignty

NKJV 365 Day Reading Plan

Day 291 of 365

Sovereignty

Two important principles have helped me survive the trials of life with joy in my heart: First, remember that we are pilgrims here, not settlers. Whatever we're enduring in this life is temporary. As Christians we have mansions waiting for us in heaven; that means our final exit here will be our grandest entrance there! If you keep your focus on that heavenly promise, then you'll know that, no matter what life throws at you, you and God can handle it.
Second, instead of whining, "Why me?" learn to say, "Whatever, Lord!" God is in control. Nothing comes into our lives without passing through His filter. He has a plan to bring us through our earthly existence to join Him in a glorious eternity. So vow to have the same faith Job had and say, in the midst of your troubles, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him."

Job 13:13-19 NASB

13 "Be silent before me so that I may speak; Then let come on me what may. 14 "Why should I take my flesh in my teeth And put my life in my hands? 15 "Though He slay me, I will hope in Him. Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him. 16 "This also will be my salvation, For a godless man may not come before His presence. 17 "Listen carefully to my speech, And let my declaration fill your ears. 18 "Behold now, I have prepared my case; I know that I will be vindicated. 19 "Who will contend with me?
