NKJV 365 / Stop Your Worrying

NKJV 365 Day Reading Plan

Day 296 of 365

Stop Your Worrying

Who among us doesn't worry? Ever since the fall, worrying has been a human pastime. Saul's father did it (10:2), I do it, and no doubt you do it, too.
Let me share a helpful lesson that came to me out my study about worry: Declare verbally to God and then to other people what the Bible says about your circumstances and affirm that you're not going to worry about that issue anymore.
Since many of my fears lurk on the inside of my soul, I never get clear perspective on them. They're buried deep inside, and from there they continue to mug me and hold me captive.
Several years ago I had a running battle with worry over what my boss thought of me. Finally I just confessed it all to the Lord and said, "Lord ,I want to affirm to You, right now by faith, that You're going to enable me not to worry any longer about this situation. If You're for me, what can man do to me?"
Does something frequently trouble you, or are you worrying about something right now? If so, what do the Scriptures say about your situations? Philippians 4:6, 7, tell us "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Embrace the truth of what God says. Then go to the Lord and affirm that you're just not going to remain fearful about that. As an act of faith, continue to confess your affirmation and walk by faith with Him.

1 Samuel 10:2 NASB

2 When you go from me today, then you will find two men close to Rachel's tomb in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say to you, 'The donkeys which you went to look for have been found. Now behold, your father has ceased to be concerned about the donkeys and is anxious for you, saying, "What shall I do about my son?"'
