NKJV 365 / The Tithe

NKJV 365 Day Reading Plan

Day 328 of 365

Here is an amazing promise about God meeting our needs when we commit to tithing our finances. The Lord says, "Try this, let me prove it to you!" Tithe means "one-tenth," or ten percent. In the Old Testament, Abraham presented a tithe to the priest-king of Jerusalem, Melchizedek (Gen. 14:18-20). In the New Testament, Jesus warned that tithing must also include concern for the more important demands of the law, those that deal with just and merciful living (Matt. 23:23; Luke 11:42). Every Christian should regularly give of his or her finances for the work of God (see 2 Cor. 9:6-11).

Malachi 3:10 NASB

10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the Lord of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.
