Temporary Death, Eternal Life by David Jeremiah

Temporary Death, Eternal Life

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”
John 11:25

We can ignore thinking about death, even debate what happens after death, but that doesn’t change the fact that we are marching steadily toward that appointed hour. And the closer we get without having answers to our questions, the more likely we are to fear death. And it’s not just us; death has always been life’s greatest mystery. The writer to the Hebrews talked about people “who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Hebrews 2:15). That same writer said Jesus Christ’s death (and resurrection) destroyed the devil’s power to keep people in bondage through fear (verse 14).

No one need live in fear of death since Jesus has removed its sting (1 Corinthians 15:54-57). All who believe in Him will die temporarily but live eternally.
