January 17 / Seeds of Spring

Planting and Tending Your Garden

SEED OF TRUTH
Read Ephesians 1:15-23.
What does Paul pray for the church in Ephesus and for Christians everywhere? Go back and read His prayer knowing that, as one of God's adopted "sons," Jesus prays for you each day (Hebrews 7:25). Imagine Jesus praying this prayer for you. Replace the word "you" with your name and quietly recite this passage to yourself. Believe this as true.

PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today's focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day.

Ephesians 1:18-19
"Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe."

WATER THE SEED
Take Paul's prayer and pray it for your family members and for a close friend. Pray it for a friend you see seeking after the Lord with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength. Now pray it for yourself. Just as Paul prayed for the Ephesians and the church, remember that Jesus prays each day, each hour, and each moment for you. Ask Him to help you see things through His eyes. Remember to "water this seed" throughout your day. Grow truth in your heart until you have a full garden of faith and righteousness!

BEAR THE FRUIT
Pray that I will know him fully.

CLOSE IN PRAYER
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

“For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:15-23‬ ‭NASB‬‬
