What’s the World Coming To? Adrian Rogers

What’s the World Coming To?
For by Him [Jesus] were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him; And He is before all things, and by Him all things  consist.  Colossians 1:16-17
Three weeks from today, we celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Biblesays, “All things were created by Him and for Him…“ (v.16). In this sentence the word “for” is a preposition that speaks of direction. It’s the Greek word for “moving in the direction of.”
We in America have been invaded by Eastern religions.  Eastern religions are circular.  Everything goes round and round. They believe that it’s all circular. But it’s not.  It’s all headed in a direction. The Bible is linear. We’re moving—moving to the time when “the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ (Revelation 11:15).
Friend, it is all headed to Jesus. It is all for Him, for the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the key to the mystery of history. If you are asking, “What is the world coming to?” here’s your answer: “It’s coming to Jesus.”
