WALKING TOGETHER / Draw Near Bible App

WALKING TOGETHER

A small boy telling his father the story of Enoch showed he understood well the truth of the Genesis passage. He said, "God and Enoch walked close together. Then, one day as they were walking, God said, 'Come on to My house, Enoch. It's much closer than walking back to yours.'"

The story of Hezekiah illustrates that he, too, was a man who walked with God. So good was his relationship with the Lord that when Sennacherib sent his threatening letter, Hezekiah went to God's house and spread it before the Lord. God heard his prayer, and that very night 185,000 enemy soldiers were destroyed before they could attack Jerusalem.

God is still looking for people who will be His friends. The lives of men like Hezekiah, Enoch, Moses, Abraham, and myriad of others remind us we can make our lives sublime by walking with God. Then, when a crisis comes, as it did to Hezekiah and to Israel, we, too, can go before God and spread the problem before Him. He will not only hear but will answer His friends. We can always ask for deliverance from our difficulties, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the LORD God, You alone.

“Now, O Lord our God, rescue us from his power; then all the kingdoms of the earth will know that you alone, O Lord, are God.””
‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭19:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬
