HERE IS PROOF

They laughed at Thomas Edison. He had tried almost a thousand times to make a newfangled candle that was supposed to burn by electricity. They said he was a fool! It would never work. However, the hard work, tenacity, and genius of Edison paid off. He produced the electric candle, and the scoffers could not laugh at his light bulb.

Paul knew the power of persistence and example. He knew if unbelievers could see the finished product of God's great mercy, they, too, might believe. Therefore, he reminds them that he was an example of God's great love. He had once persecuted the Christians. He had laughed at Christ. He had held the coats of the accusers who stoned Stephen. And if God could forgive him, then surely God could forgive anyone.

The greatest argument of the power of Christ is the Christian. Your life is an example of His love and mercy. Even if we would never speak, our very life would be mute testimony of His goodness. This is why a personal testimony is always more effective in winning people to God than a brilliant theological argument.

“But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬
