Love / NKJV 365

Love

Sometimes, they say, love’s gotta be tough. I’ll be honest — I had never reached the end of my emotional rope until my sweet little babies turned into teenagers. There were days when my husband and I didn’t know whether to kick our kids out or lock them in!

When I didn’t know where to turn or who to call for advice and help, I sought help from a perfect parent who had handled such things, and worse: I turned to my heavenly Father.

Knowing that our actions and reactions would ripple throughout our children’s lives, my husband and I tried to pattern our actions and reactions after God Himself. After all, when we mess up, He chastises, He sets us straight, and sometimes He lets us follow our own foolish way ... but He never cuts us off. He never holds grudges. And He quickly forgives.

“‘You shall not hate your fellow countryman in your heart; you may surely reprove your neighbor, but shall not incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD.”

‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭19:17-18‬ ‭
