Truth Doesn’t Change / NKJV 365

Truth Doesn’t Change

King Asa of Judah chose to be faithful to God as he began his reign. Being faithful to the one true God meant being faithful to the truth – His truth, His laws, and commandments. To Asa, this meant directing all worship to Jehovah and away from false gods, gods that were not gods. The truth was embodied in the Lord God of their fathers, everything else represented falsehood. Nothing has changed since Asa’s time relating to truth. The true God remains. False gods still abound. God’s character has not changed. His truth has not changed. We can choose to follow truth, to follow God’s commandments and laws as they are written in Scripture, or we can worship other gods that are not gods, that represent lies. As Asa’s people enjoyed peace for ten years, as long as he was faithful to God and His truth, so we can enjoy “peace in believing” (Rom. 15:14) the truth and acting on it.

Taken from The Devotional Daily Bible

“Asa did good and right in the sight of the LORD his God, for he removed the foreign altars and high places, tore down the sacred pillars, cut down the Asherim, and commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers and to observe the law and the commandment.”

‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭14:2-4‬
