July 8 / NKJV 365

Paul assumes that followers of Jesus will regularly gather together to encourage one another, to teach one another, to build up each other. Some individuals have good singing voices; some are good teachers; some serve more effectively behind the scenes. But how will people benefit from any of these things if they’re not somehow together in one place? How can you give something to others as well as receive something from others if you’re not with others? Everyone has something to bring to the table when the church comes together. Know this: You need the church, and the church needs you.

“What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:26‬
