In the mountains near my home, there is a little country church that built windows into the corners of the sanctuary, so that the devil has nowhere to hide. That’s a good reminder of how we should live.
In His midnight conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus warned, “This is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” (John 3:19).
Believers are called to “let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
We know we have been instructed to “proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
Never give the devil a corner of your life! Remember, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5, ESV).
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me out of the darkness into Your marvelous light. Help me to reflect the light of Your glory in what I say and do. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
